Il primo weekend di ottobre si sono svolti a Sacrofano gli esercizi spirituali della parrocchia di San Frumenzio . A predicare è stata chiamata la teologa Emanuela Terribile , che ha affrontato il tema del silenzio e della preghiera, suggerendo come approfondimento questi due testi di Enzo Bianchi e Michel De Certeau . Le sue riflessioni potrebbero essere utili anche ai lavori della nostra Commissione formazione.
Tutti siamo “capaci” di stare in silenzio.

La disciplina indica innanzitutto una condizione di vita : la condizione dei discepoli (discepoli di un Amore, oltre che di un Maestro), l’atteggiamento di che è disposto ad imparare, di chi è capace di apprendere. L’amore, la passione, richiedono sempre una certa disciplina, una certa cura, un certo impegno . Anche il silenzio e la preghiera, se si vogliono vivere e imparare, richiedono una disciplina.
La disciplina è organizzazione . Si parla di discipline scolastiche o discipline sportive per dire l’insieme strutturato e organizzato delle nozioni di una certa materia, o delle regole di una certa attività agonistica. Così pure la regola dei monaci è lo strumento/disciplina pensato per organizzare al meglio la loro vita, così come ogni casa, ogni famiglia, ha la sua organizzazione di vita, la sua regola, la sua disciplina.
La disciplina è pratica . Per imparare a fare qualsiasi cosa serve fare pratica. Cucinare tutti giorni a pranzo e a cena è una disciplina, qualcosa che si impara facendolo . In questo senso si capisce che il silenzio, come la preghiera, è una pratica, e la volontà conta meno dell’abitudine/disciplina.
Ma non è obbligatorio – ha ribadito la teologa - non si va in Paradiso pregando o facendo silenzio (per quello basta offrire un bicchier d’acqua a un assetato) . Lo si fa se ne abbiamo bisogno. Non si tratta di fare qualcosa in più, ma di fare quello che mi serve. La disciplina è la risposta che la tradizione offers to the needs of silence that we mature in our lives.

E poi, Dio parla? E come parla? Il cristianesimo non è religione del Libro, ma di un testo sempre interpretato. L’unica parola che Dio ha detto è Gesù. Il logos è Gesù. Dio parla? Si, ma a modo suo, Dio non parla con i nostri fonemi, quando parla Dio fa qualcosa, crea. Gesù è la parola creatrice di Dio.
